December is a month full of big celebrations – Christmas Day and New Years Eve tend to overshadow most things at this time of year. However, there is a day that is much closer to our hearts at KV Manufacturing – December 4th, National Sock Day, a whole day to celebrate the unsung heroes in our wardrobe.
So, to celebrate the occasion, we’ve got you three gifts you can give yourself!
1) The gift of making a difference, by buying British!
If you’re looking to buy British, you’re already in the right place. While we love to celebrate our luxury socks at KV Manufacturing, we love celebrating British made products and ethical practices even more.
We are proud to manufacture all our socks here in the UK, in the West Sussex countryside. We mainly work with the highest quality cottons, all of which are ethically grown and sustainably sourced - especially our Organic cotton, which is GOTS certified. By buying British, you support local jobs, strengthen the UK economy, reduce environmental impact, preserve British manufacturing and improve our product quality - lots to celebrate!

2) The gift of having peace of mind
With Christmas rapidly approaching, now is the perfect time to sort out presents for the special people in your life. We might be biased, but socks really are the ideal present for anyone – you always need them, they’re perfect for people who have everything, and they tell the people you love that you want them to feel cared for and cosy every day.
Tempted? Have a look at our brand Peper Harow (www.peperharowengland.com) for Christmas presents, everyday essentials, and even little treats for yourself.
Looking for something for your business? Socks as a corporate gifting present are the perfect way to show your employees you care. Or do you need a custom design for your business? Contact us as sales@kvmanufacturing.com and we’ll be more than happy to assist you.
Phew – glad that's sorted!

3) The gift of fresh socks that last longer
A more practical way to celebrate the socks you have already is to follow the best practices for washing them. Frequent washing is essential, but harsh laundry methods can degrade socks faster. Here’s how to keep your socks clean without damaging them:
Turn Socks Inside Out: Washing socks inside out helps remove oils and sweat from the inside, where it builds up most, and reduces pilling on the outside.
Separate by Colour and Material: Light- coloured and dark-coloured socks should be washed separately to avoid colour bleeding. Wool and other delicate materials should go in their own load or be hand-washed.
Use Cold or Warm Water: Hot water can break down elastic fibres faster, so choose cold or warm water for the best balance between cleanliness and longevity.
Avoid Fabric Softeners: Fabric softeners leave a residue that can make socks lose their stretch. Opt for a mild detergent instead.
Check the Label: Although most socks tend to recommend the above steps, some materials, like wool, which are more tender, may need to be washed in a particular way – so always check the labels!
Pro Tip: Place your socks in a mesh laundry bag to prevent them from tangling and stretching in the wash. This makes it easier to keep pairs together, and make your life a lot easier!
Definitely something to celebrate.

We hope you enjoy these gifts, and we hope you’ve had fun celebrating National Sock Day. It’s not only a reminder to cherish the socks you already own, but also an incentive to buy British, and invest in quality products that feel good and do good.
